TOWARDS EMBODIED AND SYSTEMIC UNDERSTANDING
Cognitive understanding alone is rarely enough to bring about real change. As human beings, we also need an experiential level of understanding – and just as importantly, the ability to place individual experience within a broader systemic context.
I am a performing artist, communication specialist, and trained dancer. In my work, I bring together embodied, systemic, and societal perspectives in a unique and integrated way. At the core of my practice is a holistic exploration of human existence – through the lenses of embodiment, thinking, and interaction – and how these dimensions manifest on individual, communal, and societal levels.
In addition to my dance training, I hold a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences and have worked for many years as a research and course assistant to Professor Esa Saarinen. My work at Aalto University's Department of Work Psychology and Wellbeing, as part of Professor Saarinen's team, has deepened my understanding of the systems-analytical framework and its application to both individual and organizational dynamics. In my own work, I also draw on the framework of Open Dialogue, which emphasizes the importance of relational interaction between the individual and their community as a fundamental part of identity formation and development.
